BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Twelve players scored at least two points as the McDaniel College women's basketball team posted a convincing 72-34 Centennial Conference victory over Bryn Mawr Saturday at Class of 1958 Gymnasium.
The Green Terror (9-2, 4-2 CC) posted their fifth-straight win and matched their best start to a season since 2015-16.
Sophomore
Elaina Beckett led the way with a game-high 18 points, going 8-for-13 from the floor. Freshman
Teya McConnaha finished with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, including 2-of-2 from three-point range.
Beckett scored eight points in the opening quarter as the visitors led 21-11 after one before outscoring the Owls 25-8 in the second to take a 46-19 halftime lead.
Defensively, McDaniel held Bryn Mawr to single digits in three of the four quarters, limiting them to 29.2 percent shooting from the floor while forcing 22 turnovers.
Freshmen
Ally Mathias and
Raegan Lenz each had four points and four rebounds to lead the Green Terror in the second half. Mathias finished with a career-high six points and game-high seven rebounds while Lenz had seven points and six rebounds.
Junior
Lil Overcash had seven points and four rebounds while sophomore
Lily Hines added a season-high six points, going 3-of-4 from the floor.
Winners of five out of six at home this season, McDaniel hosts Swarthmore on Rebecca L. Martin Court Tuesday at 6 p.m.
