COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Ursinus outscored the McDaniel College men's basketball team 15-2 over the final 3:22 to thwart a comeback attempt in an 81-63 Centennial Conference victory Saturday at Helfferich Hall.
Trailing by as many as 17 late in the first half, the Green Terror (6-10, 2-8 CC) chipped away at their deficit, outscoring the Bears 33-26 over the first 16 minutes of the second to pull within five, 66-61.

Chuck Contee scored 14 of his team-high 19 points in the second half while junior
Lorin Hall totaled 10 of his 14 to lead the way. The two combined for 24 of the team's 35 points, nine of 13 field goals and all four free throws.
However, following a three-pointer by Contee and subsequent technical foul with 3:23 remaining, Ursinus (8-9, 4-6 CC) scored 15 of the game's final 17 points as McDaniel missed six of its final seven shots. Meanwhile, the Bears scored eight of their last 15 points from the free throw line, going 8-for-8, including 6-for-6 in the final two minutes.
Contee finished with 19 points and three rebounds while Hall had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Senior
Joey Reiling totaled eight points, four rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes, all season highs.
McDaniel scored 22 points of 17 Ursinus turnovers while committing just nine turnovers of its own. Its is the fifth time in 16 games this season that the team has had less than 10 turnovers.
By comparison, the Bears scored 38 points in the paint and scored 17 points on the fast break. They also made 17-of-18 pass attempts.
The Green Terror quickly return to action on Monday with a non-conference contest against Christendom at home beginning at 7:30 p.m.
