WESTMINSTER, Md. - The McDaniel College women's soccer team held Franklin & Marshall without a shot on goal as the team teams battled to a scoreless draw Saturday at the Soccer Complex on Homecoming.
The Green Terror (5-2-3, 1-1-2 CC), who did not allow a shot on goal over the course of 90 minutes, posted their seventh shutout in 10 games this season while also extending their unbeaten streak against the Diplomats to seven.
As the game began, McDaniel had the first scoring opportunity when juniorÂ
Liz LeChard ripped a shot from outside the box that went wide of frame. Franklin & Marshall responded with a pair of shots from Eileen Harvey, but neither were on target.
After halftime, the Green Terror started to create scoring opportunities. Freshman
Carly Brock had a shot on goal beforeÂ
Sam Rodrick placed a shot towards the lower left corner n the 63rd minute that was saved by Diplomats keeper Lucile Fleming.
F&M (5-1-3, 2-1-1 CC) had two attempts late, but neither were on target. JuniorÂ
Olivia Moskunas and seniorÂ
Allison Storm locked up the Franklin & Marshall offense to the point where juniorÂ
Lauren Hoolahan was not required to make a single save.
As time expired, McDaniel had one last attempt from Storm who ripped a shot towards the goal, but Fleming was there to make the save.
The Green Terror return to action next Saturday, Oct. 7 at Dickinson. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
