CARLISLE, Pa. - Junior
Jessica Weinoldt scored for the third time this season as the McDaniel College women's soccer team rallied to earn a 1-1 draw on the road against Dickinson Saturday at Miller Memorial Field.
The Green Terror (5-2-4, 1-1-3 CC) is unbeaten in four out of five Centennial Conference contests this season, but with a league-high three ties, currently sit in seventh place in the standings with six points. They have allowed just two goals in five conference contests, but have scored only four.
Ava Prisco scored her fifth marker of the year off an assist from Sophia Elguera in the 13th minute as the Red Devils (7-4-1, 3-2-1 CC) took the early lead.
It marked the third time in 11 games this season that McDaniel surrendered the first goal. The team is now 0-2-1 in those games.
However, Weinoldt netted her third goal in the last four games eight minutes later to tie the game on a helper from senior
Allison Storm. The Green Terror are 2-0-1 when Weinoldt scores this season.
The game remained tied at the half despite McDaniel holding a 4-2 edge in shots and a 6-1 margin in corner kicks.
The Green Terror continued the pressure in the second half, earning five corners in the first 15 minutes, but they managed just two shots both of which were off target. Dickinson totaled three of its four corner kicks in a six-minute span late in the half, but could not muster a shot.
