LEXINGTON, Ky. - Led by junior Hogan Schulze and sophomore Charlie Dolan, the McDaniel College men's golf team set a new 54-hole program record en route to winning the Transylvania Fall Invitational Sunday at the University Club of Kentucky.

The Green Terror, who were receiving votes in Friday's Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Preseason Coaches Poll, totaled a three-day 862, breaking the previous record of 885 set in the same event on the same course a year ago. The team won the title by one stroke over Webster who was also receiving votes in the preseason poll.

The Gorloks moved up seven spots on the leader board on the final day thanks to a 7-under par 281 which tied the program record for the best single round score in team history.

Transylvania came in third with an 864 while No. 18 Greensboro finished fourth with an 867.

Schulze and Dolan both finished in the top-10 individually. Schulze placed third with an 8-under par 208 while Dolan finished eighth with a 3-under par 213. Both players broke the previous 54-hole school record set by Ryan McGarry with a 215 at least year's Transylvania Fall Invitational and the Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championship.

Webster's Jan Antonin Wdowka earned low medalist honors after finishing with a 10-under par 206, including a 6-under par 66 in the final round.

Only the final team scores and the top-25 individual scores from all three rounds were available Sunday evening.

McDaniel returns to action next Sunday, Sept. 10 in The Gauntlet hosted by Drew University at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course. The first round gets underway at 9 a.m.
