NEWVILLE, Pa. - McDaniel men's cross country sophomore
Jack Sears set a new program record in the 4k to lead the team to a sixth-place finish in the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational Saturday at Big Spring High School.
The Green Terror, who finished first among the four teams from the Centennial Conference, placed sixth with a total 86 points. Division II Shippensburg was the top team, claiming five of the top six spots to finish with six points.
Sears finished 17th and set the 4k program record with a time of 12:27.8. He set the program's 5k record with a time of 16:17.6 at the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher on Sept. 1.
Senior
Nick Raumann placed 30th with a time of 12:46.8 to also finish under the previous 4k program record, set by Peter Merkel on the same course with a time of 12:49.6 back in 2014.
Senior
Tyler Richardson finished 71st with a time of 13:24.7 over one minute better than his previous personal best. As a result he moved into seventh in program history on the Big Spring course. Junior
Anders Madsen ran a time of 13:39.7 to move into 10th in program history on the course.
Sophomore
Jack Reiser rounded out the top five with a time of 13:45.8.
