WESTMINSTER, Md. - Natalie Badour scored the game's lone goal just 50 seconds into overtime to lead Hood to a 1-0 victory over the McDaniel College field hockey team on Wednesday night at Gill Stadium.

The Green Terror (2-4) suffered their first loss in five meetings against the Blazers since 2000.

McDaniel held a 13-2 advantage in shots and a 13-4 margin in penalty corners, but were shutout for the third time in six games this season.

After an even first quarter, the Green Terror had their best chance to score early in the second quarter, totaling three shots off three consecutive penalty corners. However, each were turned away by three defensive saves, including two by Madeline Moreno.

Moreno had a third defensive save in the third quarter as McDaniel had five more penalty corners.

The Green Terror out-shot Hood 4-0 in the fourth, but two shots were blocked, one was wide and the other was saved by Richana Brown who finished with five.

McDaniel had the first possession of overtime before the Blazers took control with Hackett transitioning down the right sideline and finding Badour with a centering pass in the circle. A freshman defender, Badour scored her first career goal with a shot to back right corner to give the visitors their second-straight overtime victory on their second shot of the game.

Junior Morgan Collins, who had scored in back-to-back games, led the Green Terror with three shots on goal while junior Tenley Pelot added four with two on goal. Freshman Lora Scarangello made her lone save just 3:27 into the contest.

McDaniel opens Centennial Conference play on the road at Swarthmore Saturday. Game time from Clothier Field is at 4 p.m.
