Two Second-Half Goals Lead Dutchmen Past Field Hockey, 4-2

ANNVILLE, Pa. - With the game tied 2-2 a halftime, Lebanon Valley scored two second-half goals en route to a 4-2 victory over the McDaniel College field hockey team Wednesday night at Arnold Field.

Four different players scored for the Green Terror (1-3) in the first meeting between the two teams since 2014.

An eventful first quarter saw the teams total 10 shots, nine penalty corners, four saves, and four goals. Rebecca Lane scored the first of her two goals just four minutes in.

The Dutchmen (3-3) would maintain its one-goal lead until the two teams combined for three goals in the final three minutes. Junior Morgan Collins tied the game with 2:14 remaining on her first goal of the season and second of her career off an assist from senior Emma Legacy.

However, Lebanon Valley regained the lead just 45 seconds later when Claire Weidenhammer scored her first career goal. The offensive flurry continued as sophomore Cassidy Cashman netted her first career tally 44 seconds on the first career assist for junior Madge Myers.

Each team registered a shot in the second quarter, but both were saved as the game remained tied after 30 minutes.

The Dutchmen totaled four penalty corners and three shots in the first five minutes of the second half, scoring the game-winning goal when Lane netted her second of the game with 9:44 remaining.

Emily Kline added an insurance goal for the home team with 6:34 left in the fourth, scoring off Gracie Johnson's second assist of the half.

Lebanon Valley held a 7-1 advantage in corners in the second half and a 7-0 margin in shots.

Junior Tori McArthur totaled two shots for McDaniel while freshman Lora Scarangello finished wih six saves.

The Green Terror conclude their three-game road trip on Saturday when they travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to take on King's College at 5 p.m.
