BALTIMORE, Md. - The McDaniel College men's cross country team opened its season on Friday at the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher College.
The Green Terror placed third with a total of 120 points, which was the same amount as Stevenson who finished fourth.
Sophomore
Jack Sears finished 22nd and set the 5k program record with a time of 16:17.6. The previous mark was set by Paul Hugus in 2004 with a time of 16:29. Sears also beat his own Goucher College course record by 24 seconds.
Senior
Nick Raumann placed 32nd with a personal best time of 16:52.9, moving him into 10th-place in program history. He also posted the second-fastest time in program history on the course at Goucher College.
Sophomore
Jack Reiser and senior
Tyler Richardson finished 45th and 46th, respectively. Reiser crossed the line in 17:47.9 while Richardson finished with a time of 17:47.9. Reiser moved into fifth place in program history on the Goucher College course with a personal best.
Junior
Joc Baldacci rounded out the top-five scorers for McDaniel as he posted a personal best time of 19:04.4 which was 39 seconds faster than his previous mark. He also moved into seventh place in program history on the Goucher College course.
Freshman
Fabrizzio VeranoVerrama ran a time of 19:38.6, the eighth-fastest time in program history on the Goucher College course. Junior
Anders Madsen had the ninth-best time in program history with a time of 19:41.6.
Junior
Sean Irwin placed 79th and sophomore
Noah DeJesus came in 87th.
The Green Terror will send their top five to the Navy Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 9 while the rest of the team will compete at the Blazer Blitz hosted by Hood College on Friday.
