WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College men's lacrosse graduate student
Brighton Lorber made a season-high 22 saves as the Green Terror fell to No. 5 Gettysburg in a Centennial Conference contest Wednesday night at Gill Stadium, 18-8.
McDaniel (6-4, 0-2 CC) lost for the first time in five home games this season.
Lorber posted his sixth career game with at least 20 saves and finished four shy of his career-high set at Lycoming on March 17, 2022 and against Ursinus on May 1, 2021.
The Bullets (7-1, 2-0 CC) scored the game's first 14 goals and led 9-0 after the first quarter. Senior
Nick DeLoriers got the Green Terror on the board with 8:01 remaining in the second off an assist from senior
Zack Micklos.
DeLoriers finished with five points on three goals and two assists, netting his second hat-trick of the season.
Gettysburg added two more tallies and led 16-1 at halftime.
Each team scored twice in the third quarter with Lorber totaling nine saves on 13 shots to keep his team's deficit the same. He added five more in the fourth as McDaniel held the nation's 25th-ranked scoring offense scoreless over the final 15 minutes and outscoring them 5-0.

Gabe Jensen netted his first goal of the season and second of his career with an unassisted tally with 8:00 to play.
With 22 saves, Lorber now has 486 for his career as he moves closer to becoming just the sixth player in school history to reach 500. He is currently ranked 11th among active goalies in Division III.
The Green Terror face their second-straight nationally-ranked opponent on Saturday when they head to Collegeville, Pa. for a Centennial Conference contest at No. 19 Ursinus. Face-off is set for noon.
