Patterson, Lorber Highlight 13-7 Loss at No. 19 Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - McDaniel College men's lacrosse graduate students Luke Patterson and Brighton Lorber led the Green Terror as they fell on the road at No. 19 Ursinus Saturday, 13-7 at Patterson Field.

McDaniel (6-5, 0-3 CC), who faced its second-straight nationally-ranked opponent, outscored the Bears in the second half, but could not overcome a seven-goal halftime deficit.

Patterson finished with two assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers while Lorber became the sixth player in program history to total 500 career saves as he finished with 14.

Led by two goals from Tyler Falco, Ursinus (6-3, 1-1 CC) led 5-0 after the first quarter. Senior Dylan Vitale got the Green Terror on the board with the first goal of the second quarter, but the Bears answered with the next three, including a third from Falco as they led 8-1 at halftime.

Ursinus scored three of the first four goals to start the second half and take its largest lead 11-2 before McDaniel closed the third quarter with three-straight tallies to cut its deficit to six. One of the goals came from sophomore Colin Hughes who scored the first of his career with 2:40 remaining.

Each team netted two goals in the final 15 minutes with senior Nick DeLoriers picking up his team-leading 20th of the season. He also had an assist in the third and also leads the team with 41 points.

DeLoriers was one of seven different goal scorers for the Green Terror. Senior Logan Feuer led the team with four ground balls while graduate student Nate Capriglione had three to go along with three caused turnovers.

McDaniel looks to get back in the win column on Tuesday when it travels to Juniata to take on the Eagles. Face-off is set for 4 p.m.
