ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon scored three-straight goals to break the game's sixth tie en route to a 10-9 victory over the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team on Wednesday.
The Green Terror (5-2) suffered their first loss since the team's season opener on Feb. 18, snapping a five-game win streak, their longest since 2012.
McDaniel took the lead for the third time when sophomore
Jason Fritz scored his second goal of the game to put the team in front 8-7Â with 6:23 remaining in the third quarter.
Less than two minutes later, Jamie Smith scored his first goal of the game to tie the game for the sixth time before Bubba Bowen netted his second to give the Yellow Jackets the lead for good with just 12 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Bowen completed the hat-trick with 7:59 left in the fourth for what proved to be an important insurance tally as junior
Nick DeLoriers scored his fourth of the game to pull McDaniel within one with 4:35 to play.
The Green Terror had an extra-man opportunity with just over three minutes remaining, but Randolph-Macon limited them to just two shots the rest of the way as the Yellow Jackets picked up their fourth win in five home games this season.
DeLoriers finished with four goals and one assist while Fritz had two goals and two assists. Senior

McDaniel returns home to face Saint Vincent on Saturday at Gill Stadium. Face-off is set for 1 p.m.
