Women's Basketball Wins Fourth-Straight, 82-58 at Goucher

BALTIMORE, Md. - A total of 12 players scored for the McDaniel College women's basketball team as the team scored its most points since Nov. 15, 2019 in an 82-58 non-conference road win at Goucher Saturday.

The Green Terror (4-0) have matched their best start in the last five seasons, equaling the 2018-19 team that also started the year with four-straight wins.

Sophomore Elaina Beckett led the way with 16 points while junior Lil Overcash added 13. Freshman Carli Vogel also totaled her first career double double with 11 points and nine rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. She also led the team with four assists. She was 3-of-6 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.

Freshman Ally Mathias added six points and nine rebounds while freshman Reagan Lenz had four points and eight rebounds.

McDaniel shot 43.6 percent from the floor in the first half as it opened a 15-point halftime lead, 45-30. With the game tied for the fourth time at 11-11, the Green Terror used a 13-3 run to take a 24-14 lead with 33 seconds remaining.

A layup by freshman Teya McConnaha put McDaniel led by 16 with 3:33 left in the second quarter before stretching it to as many as 27 in the third, 61-34, following a 15-1 run.

The Green Terror scored 36 points in the paint, 33 off the bench, 24 second-chance points and another 18 on the fast-break.

McDaniel looks to match its best start to a season since 2014-15 when it opens Centennial Conference play on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Dickinson. Interestingly, the Green Terror picked up their fifth win of the 2014-15 season at Dickinson, 76-61.

Tip-off from Kline Gymnasium is at 6 p.m.
