WESTMINSTER, Md. - Senior
Tatiana Hamilton totaled 22 assists as the McDaniel College volleyball team battled Washington College in its second Centennial Conference match of the season before falling in three sets, 25-18, 25-21, 25-22.
Junior
Kathy Taveras anchored the defense for the Green Terror (9-5, 0-2 CC) with 12 digs while freshman
Reese Beck tallied four aces.
The Shorewomen (5-11, 1-1 CC) took an early lead in the first set before McDaniel started to climb back into it with an ace from Beck and a kill from fellow freshman
Abigayle Bowley. Washington stretched the lead to 17-11 when Taveras responded with back-to-back aces to cut into the deficit.
However, the Shorewomen responded with a run of their own and built the lead back up en route to winning the first set by seven.
Sophomore
Kailey Young scored early to start the second set as McDaniel jumped out to a 7-4 lead. Washington responded with a 12-3 run to take a six-point lead. Trailing 16-10, the Green Terror regrouped and started to claw their way back into the set. Three kills from Young, junior

Nia Roberts pulled the hosts within two points, but the Shorewomen scored four of the next five points and edged out a four-point win in the second set.
Washington kept the momentum going early in the third, building a 10-3 lead. Following a timeout by McDaniel, the Green Terror went on a 10-4 run to pull within one. Hamilton, Bowley, Young and sophomore
Kenzie Mitchell all converted kills during the run to bring McDaniel to within one, 14-13.
The Shorewomen stretched the lead back to 19-15, but McDaniel stayed close with another kill from Mitchell before Beck connected on two of her service aces to cap five consecutive points for the Green Terror as they took a 20-19 advantage.
However, Washington answered five-straight points of its own to reach match point, sealing the win on a kill by Sylvia Johnson.
McDaniel returns to action on Saturday as it hosts a tri-match with Ursinus and Eastern Mennonite begins at noon.
