Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Haverford Edges McDaniel with Two Second Half Goals

Haverford, Pa. - Men's Soccer traveled to Haverford for a late season Centennial Conference matchup. McDaniel withstood the potent Haverford offense in the first half, but a pair of late goals gave the Fords a 2-0 win.

McDaniel now sits at 4-5-4, 1-5 CC on the season.

Both teams traded shots early at Haverford. Brandon Morse ripped a shot that was just off frame. Then, in the 33rd minute, Carver Neary created space and connected on a shot towards the goal that was saved by the Fords keeper Dylan Ioffreda. While Haverford out shot the Green Terror in the first half, the McDaniel back line used continuous pressure to make sure none of those were on target.

Graduate keeper Austin Heid made one of his seven saves just after halftime. In the 63rd minute, Haverford broke through with a goal from Tomas Ascoli. The McDaniel offense was held in check through most of the second half, but Noah Rodriguez had an opportunity to tie the game up in the 88th minute with a header that went just wide of the net. The Fords added one more goal just before time expired to get the 2-0 win.

McDaniel returns to action on Wednesday at home against Gettysburg. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
