Hall Game-Winner Lifts McDaniel Past Diplomats, 69-68

LANCASTER, Pa. - A jumper by McDaniel College men's basketball sophomore Lorin Hall with 3.7 seconds left proved to be the game-winner in the Green Terror's 69-68 Centennial Conference road win at Franklin & Marshall Saturday.

Hall led the Green Terror (6-7, 3-5 CC) with a career-high 18 points off the bench, going 8-for-11 from the floor while adding five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

After a three-pointer by Omar Nichols gave the Diplomats a 68-67 lead with 22 seconds remaining, McDaniel called a timeout to set-up a chance to win the game. With five seconds to go, freshman Jonas Sujeta grabbed a loose ball and passed it to Hall at the top of the three-point line where Hall attacked his defender and hit a pull-up jumper from just outside the paint with less than four seconds remaining.

The win improved the Green Terror to 3-0 in game's decided by two points or less this season.

Hall totaled 10 of his 18 points in the second half as McDaniel shot 61.5 percent from the floor and scored 26 of its 39 points in the paint.

The game featured eight ties and 13 lead changes with the Green Terror erasing a 10-point deficit with 15:50 remaining in the second half.

Franklin & Marshall (8-7, 3-5 CC) also led by as many as nine in the first half before McDaniel cut the deficit to five at the half, 35-30, behind eight points from Hall and seven points and three assists from junior Jeong Hwang.

Sujeta and junior David Smoot each finished with 10 points while Smoot added a team-high six rebounds to go along with three assists.

McDaniel returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at home against Washington College. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
