WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The McDaniel College men's soccer team capitalized twice in the second half to continue its hot start to the 2022 season with a 2-0 road victory at Penn College Saturday.
As the first half began, the Green Terror (2-0) found a nice rhythm on offense and kept up the pressure through most of the opening period, amassing 10 shots, but could not find the back of the net. Senior
Gage Souder had two chances early.
Penn College (0-2) struggled to muster any offense in the first half as
Tyler Reid and
Matt Bowes anchored the Green Terror defense with another strong performance.
Jared Edge and
Conor Najera applied constant pressure to aid the McDaniel back line holding the Wildcats without a shot through the full 90 minutes of action.
Jorge Herrera opened up the second half with a beautiful pass to
AJ Nordone who connected for the first goal of the game with 47 minutes elapsed.
In the 75th minute, Nordone dribbled past the defense and ripped a low line drive into the back of the net as the Green Terror took a two-goal lead heading into the final minutes.
McDaniel locked down the Wildcats offense the rest of the way en route to the victory.
The Green Terror head to Marywood on Wednesday to take on the Pacers beginning at 4 p.m.
