WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College men's soccer senior
Austin Heid faced 16 shots and posted his fifth shutout of the season as the Green Terror battled Franklin & Marshall to a 0-0 scoreless tie on Saturday at the Soccer Complex.
McDaniel (6-1-1, 0-1-1 CC) posted its second shutout in the last four meetings against the Diplomats who entered the gamed ranked at No. 24 in the D3Soccer.com Top 25 and receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25.
After a physical first half that featured a combined 13 fouls and five fouls, the Green Terror defense faced 13 second-half shots, limiting Franklin & Marshall to just one shot on goal which was turned away by Heid for one of his two saves in the game.

Gage Souder had the best opportunity of the game for McDaniel in the 16th minute off a corner kick by sophomore
Brandon Morse, but it was stopped by the Diplomats' Sam Farrell for his lone save of the day.
The Diplomats (5-1-2, 1-0-1 CC) held McDaniel without a shot or corner kick over the game's final 22 minutes while totaling four corner kicks and three shots of their own. However, Heid and the defense withstood the barrage to remain unbeaten in two home games this season, extending the team's shutout streak to 180 minutes.
A total of 22 players saw playing time for the Green Terror as they played their eighth consecutive game at home in which they allowed one goal or less.
McDaniel faces its second-straight nationally-ranked opponent on Wednesday when they make the short trip to downtown Baltimore to take on Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays are ranked at No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 and at No. 7 in the D3Soccer.com Top 25. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
