THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel posted a round of 447 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 922, opening the spring with a third-place finish at its own McDaniel Spring Invitational at The Bridges.
THE LEADERS
• Zoey Nichols (Princess Anne, Md./Washington Academy) carded matching rounds of 97 to finish ninth overall with a score of 194.
FOR THE FOES
• Stevenson won the team title with a score of 709 (356-353) behind individual medalist Casey Oppenheimer, who posted a round of 77 on Sunday – the best round of the weekend by seven strokes.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Vaishali Bhatt (Media, Pa./Garnet Valley) finished tied for 12th with a score of 217, carding a round of 108 on Saturday and 109 on Sunday.
• Daniela Babich (Baltimore, Md./Dulaney) was 16th with a score of 265 that included a round of 117 on Sunday.
• Olivia Vanreusel (Reisterstown, Md./Franklin) made her debut with a score of 266, improving by eight strokes from round one to round two with a 124 on Sunday.
• Zoey Smalls (Washington, D.C./McLean School) rounded out the competitors in 18th place with a score of 281 (142-139).
