BRYN MAWR, Pa. - McDaniel College women's basketball freshman
Elaina Beckett totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds as the Green Terror opened Centennial Conference play with a 73-41 victory over Bryn Mawr Saturday.
McDaniel (2-3, 1-0 CC) picked up its first road win of the season.
Beckett posted a career high in points while posting her third double double in five games this season. She scored 14 points in the first quarter as the Green Terror jumped out to an 18-2 lead and led 20-10 after 10 minutes.
Graduate student
Meggie Burgess and freshman
Emily Lockard combined for 11 points in the second quarter as McDaniel stretched its lead to as many as 18 and led 39-23 at the half.
Burgess, who finished with a season-high 15 points, added seven more in the third quarter as the Green Terror outscored the Owls 22-8, limiting them to just 4-of-14 shooting, including 0-for-6 from three-point range.
Senior
Mallory Conroy totaled six points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals while freshman
Bri Floyd scored nine points, including five in the fourth quarter. Sophomore
Jessica Weinoldt grabbed a career-high seven rebounds and sophomore
Liliana Overcash had a career-high six assists, equaling the mark she had in a 77-29 win over Bryn Mawr at home on Nov. 20, 2021.
McDaniel returns home to face Dickinson on Tuesday. Tip-off from on Rebecca L. Martin Court is at 6 p.m.
