COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Cougars took control early and beat McDaniel in straight sets on the road.
McDaniel fell behind early against Misericordia (19-8), but freshman
Kailey Young responded and connected on three of her team leading 10 kills to bring McDaniel back. The Cougars stretched the lead back out until fellow freshman
Jayda Patterson found her groove and tallied three kills to keep pace with Misericordia. The Cougars pulled away late and won the first set 25-19.
The Cougars kept the momentum going into the second set with an early 15-6 lead. Kills by

Mackenzie Mitchell, and
Jayda Patterson cut into the Misericordia lead, but McDaniel could not over come the gap and fell in the second set 25-17.Â
In the third set,
Angalyn Strouse brought McDaniel back from an early deficit with an ace and kill.
Kailey Young connected on a pass from
Tatiana Hamilton to bring McDaniel within one point early on. Both teams traded points until the Cougars went on a six-point run to take a 15-7 lead.
Strouse brought McDaniel back once again with three-straight kills along with a pair of Cougar errors and the Green Terror were within three. From there, Misericordia took control and never looked back to win the third and final set 25-16.
McDaniel returns to action at home on Wednesday against Gettysburg. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 P.M.
