McDaniel was outshot 9-6 but the defense held strong until the offense could convert off a penalty corner in the final minute of the first overtime to top Randolph-Macon, 1-0.

• Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) netted the game-winner for the Green Terror, cleaning up a scramble in front of the cage.
• Mikayla Smith (Frederica, Del./Lake Forest) made five saves in goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Gatlin Snyder made four saves for the Yellow Jackets.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Off its fifth penalty corner of the game – and second in the final minutes of overtime – Tenley Pelot (Fruitland, Md./Parkside) shot from the top of the circle but it was saved. Emma Legacy, however, was there to clean up the loose ball on a scramble and finish for the game-winner.
THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel had a 5-4 edge in penalty corners.
• The Green Terror is 2-0 for the first time since 2015 and opened the year with back-to-back shutouts for the first time since 2004.
