THE SKINNY
McDaniel dropped its three matches at the Chocolate Duals hosted by Messiah at Middletown High School. The Green Terror opened the day with a 27-15 setback to York before falling to Delaware Valley 24-14. Division II Millersville capped the day with a 35-12 win over McDaniel.

• Tony Wuest (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) led the Green Terror with a 2-1 day that included two pins.
• Alex LaVeck (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) also went 2-1 on the day with a technical fall and major decision.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the opening match of the day against York, the Spartans opened with four straight wins to go up 21-0. Jared Kuhns (125) opened with a 12-3 win before a Brandon Murray first-period fall at 133. A Tyson McDuffy first-period technical fall at 141 pushed the lead to 15-0 before Jared Bair made it 21-0 with another first-period pin.
• Xavier Howard (Sykesville, Md./Wheaton) used a 4-3 win at 157 to get McDaniel on the board before Eric Hutchinson responded with a 4-1 win at 165 for York. A Michael Bromley (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) major decision win at 174 and Valentino Pryor (Odenton, Md./Arundel) win in overtime cut the margin to 24-10. Cam Farrow notched a 6-1 win at 197 before Tony Weust wrapped up the match with a 17-0 victory at heavyweight.
• Delaware Valley opened the match with four straight wins to build an 18-0 lead. Ryan Kelly (125) opened the day with a 10-2 win before Rashad Stratton had a 19-4 technical fall win at 133. Russell Benson won by injury default at 141 before Greg Croce notched a 6-4 victory at 149.
• Xavier Howard won his second match of the day with a 10-3 victory at 157 to get the Green Terror on the board and Alex LaVeck closed the deficit to 18-8 with a 17-0 technical fall at 165. Youssef Ait Boulahri won 12-7 at 174 for the Aggies before Valentino Pryor countered with a 9-3 win at 184 for McDaniel. Jaedyn Harris (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) edged out a 5-4 win at 197 before Delaware Valley's Dan Eckley capped the match with a 5-2 win at heavyweight.
• Against Millersville, the Marauders won the first four bouts to take a 21-0 lead in the match. Bryce Beatty notched an 11-4 win at 125 before Devin Flannery recorded a 51-second fall at 133. Joshua Tuckey and Alex Bendinelli added forfeit wins before Howard recorded a 12-5 at 157.
• Alex LaVeck followed with a 13-3 major decision at 165 to close the margin to 21-7 but an Anthony Yacovetti 18-1 technical fall at 174 and Anthony Giampietro forfeit win at 184 sealed the victory. After a Bruce Vaughn edged out a 2-1 win at 197, Wuest capped the match with a 1-minute, 32-second pin at heavyweight for McDaniel.
