THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel opened the season with four wrestlers notching no fewer than three wins at the Messiah Invitational. The Green Terror placed 10th with 47 points.

THE LEADERS
• Michael Bromley (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) led the Green Terror with a fourth-place finish at 174. His day started with back-to-back first-period pins, falling Elizabethtown's Matt Watson in 1:52 and Messiah's Donte Hibbert in 1:03 before dropping a 14-2 major decision to top-seeded Evan Lawrence (Wis.-Eau Claire). Bromley took a 13-2 major decision victory over Traisach Roland (Elizabethtown) in his opening match of the consolation bracket before taking a medical forfeit to reach the consolation semifinals, where he topped Washington and Lee's Cameron Blizard, 9-5. Joe Paul (Johns Hopkins) edged Bromley 4-2 in the third-place match.

• Xavier Howard (Sykesville, Md./Wheaton) made his collegiate debut with a 3-2 showing at 157. His day started with a 4-0 win over Luke Moynihan (Elizabethtown) before adding a 10-8 win over Cooper Johnson (Washington and Lee). Howard fell 14-2 in the quarterfinals to the top seed in the bracket, Ryan Luth (Washington and Lee) to drop to the consolation bracket, where he pinned Jud Cummings (Washington and Lee) in 2:02 and was pinned by Wis.-Eau Claire's Adam Rients midway through the second period.
• Valentino Pryor (Odenton, Md./Arundel) made his debut with a 3-2 day at 184. His day started with a 58-second pin of Kailer Ramm (Elizabthtown) before falling 6-4 to Chase Melton (Wis.-Eau Claire). In the consolation bracket, Pryor notched an 8-2 win over Blake Silber (Gettysburg) and 1-minute, 46-second pin of Luke Feddeler (Wheaton) before his day ended with a 7-1 loss to Nlall Schoenfelder (Wis.-Eau Claire).
• Tony Wuest (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) went 3-1 at heavyweight, starting his day with back-to-back falls before dropping a 9-2 decision to Dylan Waller (Elizabethtown). Wuest added a pin late in the first period over Kurt Driscoll (Elizabethtown).
• Cole Jones (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) went 2-2 in his debut at 133. After opening with a bye, he pinned Messiah's Joshua Flores in 2:32. Ethan Harsted sent Jones to the consolation bracket with a 23-9 major decision. In the consolation bracket, Jones added a 38-second pin of Palmer Larson (Wheaton) and fell 12-4 to Ursinus' Romeo Rodriguez.
• Alex DuFour (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) added one win at 125. He fell 11-5 to Anthony Zamora (Whaaton) before topping Messiah's Hunter Rinehart 5-2 in the consolation bracket. DuFour's day ended with a 10-7 defeat to Brendan Johnston (Wheaton).
