THE SKINNY
McDaniel closed out a 4-0 day at the Green Terror Duals with a 48-12 win over James Madison and a 34-16 victory over Apprentice School, wrestling the two matches simultaneously.
THE LEADERS
• Jaedyn Harris (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) led the Green Terror with a 3-minute, 39-second pin in the JMU match and clinched the Apprentice match with a 10-6 decision at 197.
FOR THE FOES
• Ethan Coyle led the Dukes with a first-period pin.
• Jordan Robbins led the Builders with 5-minute, 27-second pin at 141.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Alex DuFour (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills) opened up the Apprentice match with a fall in 2:09 before the Builders responded with three straight wins. Dillon Messick won the 133 bout by a 12-3 margin before Jordan Robbins recorded his fall for a 10-6 lead in the match. Raekwon Jackson won by injury default as the third period started to extend the lead to 16-6.
• Xavier Howard (Sykesville, Md./Wheaton) came out on top of a back-and-forth third period for a 15-13 victory at 157 before Alex LaVeck (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) recorded his fourth pin of the day in 2:37. Michael Bromley (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore) followed with a late pin of his own, getting the fall with 1:00 to go in the third period. Yoann Olympio (Germantown, Md./Northwest) stretched the lead to 25-16 with an 11-0 major decision before Jaedyn Harris secured the team win. Tony Wuest (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) tacked on a pin with six seconds left in the first period.
• Starting at 165 against JMU, LaVeck recorded a 31-second pin before Bromley and Valentino Pryor (Odenton, Md./Arundel) each took forfeit wins for an 18-0 lead. Harris got a fall at 3:39 at 197 before Wuest made it 30-0 at the halfway point with a 31-second fall.
• DuFour won by forfeit before Ethan Coyle notched his pin at 133 with seven seconds remaining in the first period. Joe McKneely (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) and Jake Doyle (Cockeysville, Md./Hereford) sandwiched forfeit wins around the Alex Choi forfeit win for the Dukes.
