THE SKINNY
McDaniel took advantage of its lone first-quarter opportunity for a 1-0 lead and the defense made that lead stand for a win over Swarthmore.
THE LEADERS
• Tenley Pelot (Fruitland, Md./Parkside) led the Green Terror with the game's only tally.
FOR THE FOES
• Alexandra Kelleher and Katherine Kohn had a pair of shots each for the Garnet.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the 13th minute, Yeseniah Ortiz (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea Regional) saved a ball off the endline just to the right of the cage. Her centering pass with the Swarthmore keeper out of the goal went right to Tenley Pelot, who knocked it home.
• The McDaniel defense withstood a flurry of second-half activity by the Garnet inside the circle to post its third shutout of the season.

• It was McDaniel's first conference win since a 1-0 triumph over Haverford on Oct. 14, 2018.
