McDaniel placed ninth in a 5,000-meter race at the Hood Blazer Twilight hosted at Utica Park. The Green Terror posted 207 points as a team.
THE LEADERS
• Shaun Thompson (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) finished 25th to lead the Green Terror, posting a time of 17:12.0.
FOR THE FOES
• Messiah won the 11-team meet with 29 points. The Falcons' also had the individual medalist in Galen Fitzkee (15:46.2).
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Steve Porembski (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) crossed 55th overall with a time of 18:12.0
• Miky Kisi (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) was 66th overall with a time of 19:14.7.
• Evan Lowengrub (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) finished 69th with a time of 19:26.9.
• Darien London (Essex, Md./Kenwood) placed 76th with a time of 19:48.4.
• Ricardo Loyola (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) was 84th with a time of 21;13.9.
• Isaiah Williams (Stephen City, Va./Sherando) finished 87th with a time of 22:11.8.
THE INSIDE STORY
• A total of 101 runners competed at the 5,000-meter distance.
• All seven Green Terror runners posted personal-best 5K cross country times at the meet.
• It was the first time a 5,000-meter race was competed at Utica Park.
