Vance finishes sixth with 154

ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) posted a 36-hole score of 154 to lead McDaniel to a third-place finish at its own spring invitational in men's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.

The Green Terror posted a score of 629 over the two days at a windy and cold Bridges Golf Club, posting a 311 on Saturday to hold a three-stroke lead. McDaniel followed it up with a 318 on Sunday to finish one shot behind York (Pa.) and Franklin & Marshall. For the first time in tournament history, the 36-hole final score had to go to the first tiebreaker for the team title. The Spartans edged the Diplomats when matching the fifth-player score on Sunday.

The Green Terror's B-Team placed sixth in the nine-team field with a score of 644 (321-323).

Vsnce posted a round of 74 on Saturday – one of three co-leaders after the first 18 holes – before finishing with an 80 to fall to sixth place overall. St. John Fisher's Colin McGaugh won the individual title with a score of 150 (75-75).

Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) placed eighth for McDaniel, finishing as the low man on Sunday with a score of 76 to post a round of 155 after carding a 79 on Saturday.

Collin MacDonald (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) finished 11th with a score of 157 that included match's Vance's 74 in the first round.

Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) was 24th overall with a score of 163 (84-79) while Jack Oullette (Marlborough, Mass./St. John's) was 53rd with a 177 (85-92).

Brendan Shay (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) played as an individual, finishing 46th with a score of 172 (84-88).

Charlie Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) and Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) led the B-Team with matching scores of 159, finishing as part of a tie for 15th. The duo matched exactly with rounds of 82 on Saturday and 77 on Sunday.

Maximillian Emmerich (Swampscott, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) placed 31st with a score of 165 (77-88) while Matt Cramer (New Market, Md./Oakdale) was 37th with a final mark of 167 (80-87).

Ryan Sember (Branford, Conn./Branford) rounded out the field for the Green Terror with a score of 168 (86-82) to place 39th.

The B-Team is back in action at the Gettysburg Spring Invitational on Tuesday, Apr. 17 before the A-Team plays its final tune-up before the conference championship at the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational on Apr. 22-23.
