DETAW ISLAND, S.C. – Charlie Csejka (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) posted a 54-hole score of 234 to finish tied for 12th and lead McDaniel to a fourth-place finish at the TaylorMade Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at Cotton Dike Course in men's golf action on Monday and Tuesday.
The Green Terror slept on a 36-hole lead after Monday, posting rounds of 312 and 306 on the first day. McDaniel then carded a round of 316 on Tuesday to slip to fourth place overall with a final tally of 934. Greensboro won the 14-team tournament that featured some of the top Division III teams with a score of 920 (297-322-301), edging Kenyon by one. Mount St. Joseph edged the Green Terror by one stroke.
Csejka and Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) each finished tied for 12th with a score of 234. Both had their low rounds of the tournament on Monday afternoon. Vance posted a round of 74 while Csejka had a round of 75.
Collin MacDonald (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) was 18th overall with a score of 237. He played all three rounds nearly identical, improving by one stroke each round from an 80 on Monday morning to a 78 on Tuesday.
Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) bookended the tournament with rounds of 76, finishing 23rd overall with a score of 238.
Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) matched Keane's final score but opened the tournament with rounds of 79 and 78 before finishing with a round of 81.
Jack Ouellette (Marlborough, Mass./St. John's) and Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) competed as individuals, finishing 15th and 51st, respectively. Oullette carded a score of 235 (75-77-83) while Garruppo registered a score of 246 (76-83-87).
The Green Terror returns to action at its own spring invitational at The Bridges on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 24-25. Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. both days.
