Franklin & Marshall, ranked 12th in the latest NFHCA poll, scored twice in the game's first 10:44 en route to a 5-0 win over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) made 17 saves in goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Erin Coverdale recorded a goal and an assist for the Diplomats.
• Lily Mynott also added a goal and an assist.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the seventh minute, Colleen Francis found Emily Nagle from the right baseline to the backside post for a 1-0 lead.
• Just four minutes later, Nicole Bodo knocked home a rebound off a shot from the top of the arc.
• In the 21st minute, Lily Mynott blasted a shot from the top of the arc the bounced off the keeper and Erin Coverdale was there to knock it in for a 3-0 lead.
• Coverdale returned the favor, finding Mynott on the post for a 4-0 lead in the 25th minute.
• Kat Horsley converted a penalty stroke in the 44th minute for the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Franklin & Marshall finished with a 28-2 advantage in shots and 17-5 advantage in penalty corners.
