BRIDGEWATER, Va. – McDaniel's defense stood strong and the offense got the game's lone goal for a 1-0 win over Bridgewater in non-conference field hockey action on Sunday.

Emily Houska (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) tallied the game-winner for the Green Terror (1-3), tallying her third goal of the season. She had two goals in 17 games as a freshman and now has three in four game as a sophomore.

Elizabeth Collyer (Rock Hall, Md./Kent County) made 13 saves in a game in which the Eagles (1-4) outshot their visitors 23-3 on the day.

On a counterattack in the 62nd minute, Houska tipped in a Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) pass on McDaniel's only second-half shot.

Collyer made nine of her 13 saves after halftime.

McDaniel returns to action at home against Susquehanna on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
