WILSON, N.C. – Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) finished seventh to lead McDaniel to a third-place finish at the 54-hole Barton Intercollegiate presented by Greenlight in men's golf action on Monday and Tuesday.

The Green Terror posted a three-round total of 926, including the low round of the tournament. The squad posted a second-round score of 294 that began on Monday before play was suspending, forcing a Tuesday morning finish. The round vaulted McDaniel from seventh place to second place. The Green Terror carded a round of 318 over the first 18 holes before concluding play with a round of 314.

Barton won the 12-team tournament with a score of 903 (299-302-302) while Southern New Hampshire was second with a score of 916 (305-313-298).

Garruppo finished his two days with a score of 227. He posted a round of 76 over the first round before carding a round of 73 in the second round and posted a round of 78 for his final 18.

Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) finished 14th overall with a score of 231. He also posted three rounds of 79 or better, carding a round of 79 in the first round and 75 in the second round. He finished play with a round of 77.

Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) finished tied for 20th overall. Vance posted McDaniel's low round of the tournament with a score of 71 over the second round. He finished with a 78 to card a 234 for the 54 holes. Keane – like his four teammates – also had his best round in the second round with a score of 75. He posted a 78 on Monday and 81 on Tuesday.

Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) finished 49th overall with a score of 251 (89-81-81).

Matt Cramer (New Market, Md./Oakdale) played as an individual and finished 55th overall with a score of 259 (91-87-81).

McDaniel returns to action at its own spring invitational at The Bridges Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 25 and 26. Tee times begin at 8:30 a.m. both days.
