Houska tallies in second half

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg scored a pair of first-half goal to defeat McDaniel 2-1 in non-conference field hockey action on Tuesday.

Emily Houska (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) finished for the Green Terror (2-12) to break up the shutout in the 67th minute.

Molly Pickard led the Bobcats (4-11), scoring both goals.

Off a corner in the eighth minute, Cara Morrell found Pickard, who finished for a 1-0 lead.

The same duo connected on another corner just over 15 minutes to double the lead at the 23:17 mark.

Houska redirected a shot from Jensyn Koontz (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) with 3:28 to play for the final margin.

Paige Ford (Edgewater, Md./South River) made eight saves for McDaniel.

Frostburg finished with an 18-6 advantage in shots and 8-5 edge in penalty corners.

The Green Terror returns to action at home against Muhlenberg on Friday. Game time is 7 p.m.
