LANCASTER, Pa. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) won the 8,000-meter race to lead McDaniel at the Lancaster Bible Homecoming Invitational in men's cross country action on Thursday.

Time and Score:

• The Green Terror finished second in the 12-team invitational with 55 points. A total of 95 runners competed at the 8,000-meter distance. Lebanon Valley won the meet with 21 points.

Heads of the Class:

• Jim Heilman turned in a time of 27:30 to win the race. He won by 29 seconds.

Five of a Kind: The following athletes rounded out the scoring five at the meet:

• Will Greene (Westminster, Md./Delone Catholic) finished sixth (28:37)
• Gavin Gibson (Newark, Del./Sanford) finished eighth (29:09)
• Shaun Thompson (Mt. Airy, Md./Glenelg) finished 13th (29:37)
• Cyrus Daroowalla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) finished 32nd (31:17).

Top 10 Worthy: The following athletes finished in the top 10 at the meet:

• Jim Heilman finished first (27:30)
• Will Green finished sixth (28:37)
• Gavin Gibson finished eighth (29:09)
• Only Lebanon Valley (5) had more finishers in the top 10.

Top of His Game: The following athletes turned in a personal best at the meet:

• Gavin Gibson bettered his previous best by 22 seconds.
• Shaun Thompson bettered his previous best by 25 seconds.

• Jim Heilman turned in the best time on the course, bettering his mark from last year by five seconds.
• Will Green ranks third (28:37).
• Gavin Gibson ranks fifth (29:09)
