MEADVILLE, Pa. – Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) fired a team-low score of 149 to finish seventh and lead McDaniel at the Guy Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted by Allegheny to open the men's golf season on Sunday and Monday.
The Green Terror placed sixth in the 18-team field, firing a score of 618. After carding a round of 314 on Sunday, McDaniel dropped 10 strokes and posted a 304 over the final 18 holes at the Country Club of Meadville.
Wittenberg won the team title with a score of 594 (301-293).
Norwitz posted a score of 74 over the first 18 holes before firing a 75 on Monday to finish in the top 10 individually.
Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) also posted two rounds in the 70s with a round of 79 on Sunday and 75 on Monday. His two-round score of 154 put him a tie for 25th place.
Mason Woolford (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) finished 45th overall with a score of 158. He shot a round of 80 on Sunday and 78 on Monday.
Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) finished tied for 50th with scores of 159. Keane fired an 81 in his first collegiate round before scoring a 78 over the final 18 holes. MacBurnie fired a score of 83 in the first round and 76 in the second round.
Matt Cramer (New Market, Md./Oakdale) played just the first round, posting a round of 95 as an individual.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Navy Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
