STEVENS, Pa. – Janine Borrelli (Rockville, Md./St. John's College) fired the only round in the 70s on the weekend to finish fourth at the 2016 Centennial Conference (CC) women's golf championship on Saturday and Sunday.
The sophomore fired a career-low round of 76 on Sunday to post the lowest final round in the history of the championship and second lowest round in any round. McDaniel's Kelly Cramp posted a 75 in the first round of 2004 championship. Borrelli earned all-conference honors after her two-day score of 167.
Sarah Hansen won the individual title with a two-day score of 162 (82-80), leading Gettysburg to the championship. The Bullets fired a 357 on Saturday and 334 on Sunday to finish with a score of 691 and outdistance the Green Terror by 33 shots. McDaniel finished with a 36-hole score of 724 (372-352).
Casey Marson (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) joined Borrelli as an all-conference honoree, finishing tied for fifth with a score of 175. She shot a 90 in the first round before posting a second-round score of 85.
Alex Philo (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) finished tied for 16th with a score of 189 (97-92) while Kelsey Kirkman (Chesapeake, Va./Norfolk Academy) was 19th overall with a score of 193 (94-99).
