ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Kelsey Kirkman (Chesapeake, Va./Norfolk Academy) posted a two-round total of 178 to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish at its own invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in women's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
As a team, the Green Terror shot rounds of 366 both days to finish with a 36-hole total of 732. Gettysburg won the four-team tournament with a score of 682 (337-345) behind individual medalist Samantha Sessa's 158 (82-76).
Kirkman joined Casey Marson (Norwich, N.Y./Norwich) and Janine Borrelli (Rockville, Md./St. John's College) with two-day totals of 178, finishing as part of a five-way tie for fourth place. Kirkman posted a round of 90 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday.
Borelli had Saturday's best round for McDaniel with a score of 87 and followed that up with a round of 91. Marson inverted Borelli's scores, shooting a team-best 87 on Sunday after a first-round score of 91.
Alex Philo (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area) carded a first-round score of 98 and second-round tally of 100 to finish 16th with a score of 198. Allison Isidore (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) rounded out the Green Terror finishers in 23rd place with a score of 259 (131-128).
McDaniel returns to action at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.
