ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) shot a one-over par 73 on Sunday to finish with a two-day total of 151 and lead McDaniel to a fourth-place finish at its own spring invitational at The Bridges Golf Club in men's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
As a team, the Green Terror posted a 36-hole total of 617 on the Centennial Conference championship course, carding a round of 312 on Saturday and a round of 305 on Sunday. Gettysburg won the 11-team invitational with a tournament-record score of 598 behind a opening-round 298 and second-round 300. Dane Sethre-Hofstad won the individual title with an even-par 144 (71-73).
Vance fired a round of 78 on Saturday before coming back with a score of 73 to finish seventh overall with his score of 151.
Mason Woolford (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) carded McDaniel's best round on Saturday with a score of 75. He added a round of 77 on Sunday to finish with a 152 and finish 10th.
Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) finished with two rounds in the 70s, shooting a first-round score of 79 and a second-round score of 78 to place 20th with a score of 157.
Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) and Steven Tanen (Laurel Hallow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) finished tied for 27th with scores of 159. Norwitz shot a round of 82 on Saturday and 77 on Sunday while Tanen posted a score of 80 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday.
Andrew Gordon (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax), Tim LaSarso Jr. (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) and Tyler Joven (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) competed as individuals for the Green Terror. Gordon posted a two-day score of 156 (80-76) to finish 19th while LaSarso finished 20th with a score of 157 (80-77). Joven finished 56 with a score of 174 (84-90).
McDaniel returns to action at the Hershey Cup at Hershey Country Club on Sunday, Apr. 3 and Monday, Apr. 4.
