Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – Franklin & Marshall scored on its first two shots of the game en route to a 3-0 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Monday.
Elizabeth Collyer (Rock Hall, Md./Kent County) made four saves for the Green Terror (2-7, 1-3 CC) in 45 minutes of relief action between the pipes.
Emily Nagle led the fifth-ranked Diplomats (7-2, 4-0 CC) as one of three different goal scorers.
On a corner in the fourth minute, Nagle sent the ball high to Annie Horsley, who blasted a shot that Nicole Bodo was able to tip into the back of the cage for a 1-0 lead.
Nagle then finished another corner in the 18th minute, tapping home a Sarah Schannauer hit from the top of the arc.
Erin Coverdale finished a centering pass that Sydney Cole saved on the endline to set the final margin with just 8:04 to play.
Emily Farrell (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) added a defensive save for McDaniel midway through the second half.
Franklin & Marshall finished with advantages of 17-1 in corners and 11-1 in shots.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Dickinson on Wednesday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
