Quattrone scores in first half

HAVERFORD, Md. – Haverford scored the game's first four goals en route to a 4-1 win over McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.

Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) led the Green Terror (4-11, 3-5 CC) with a goal in the 27th minute.

Paige Carson recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Fords (8-7, 4-4 CC), who remained right in the thick of the playoff chase.

Lucy Torolani deflected in a Carson cross to start a four-goal run in 13 minutes with the game's first goal at the 7:33 mark.

Carson then dribbled through the circle and finished in the right corner nearly seven minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

Nick Witte finished the first of two Natalie Leslie assist in the 18th minute before Leslie found Mason McNulty two minutes later.

Quattrone dribbled through the defense and fired from the top of the circle to break up the shutout at the 26:25 mark.

McDaniel finished with a 15-12 edge in shots, including holding a decisive 12-5 advantage in the second half.

Danielle Rette, however, made nine of her 10 saves after the break.

Chrstina Gooding (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) made six saves in relief in goal for the Green Terror.

McDaniel returns to action in the home finale against Johns Hopkins on Tuesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
