GREENSBORO, N.C. – Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) carded a two-day score of 147 to finish 17th and lead McDaniel at the prestigious O'Briant-Jensen Invitational in men's golf action on Monday and Tuesday.
The Green Terror carded a 36-hole total of 630 to finish 13th in a field that featured some of the top teams in Division III. McDaniel posted a round of 325 on Monday before bouncing back with a round of 305 on Tuesday. Huntingdon, currently ranked No. 1 in Division III, won the 15-team invitational with a score of 565 that included a round of 277 on Monday to lead the field by 15 strokes at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
Norwitz turned in a round of two-over par 73 over the first 18 holes before posting a score of 74 on Tuesday.
Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) finished 45th in the field after matching Norwitz with a team-low 74 over the final 18 holes. Vance finished with a two-day score of 156 after carding a round of 82 on Monday.
Kevin Keane (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) and Christian Garruppo (Hilton Head, S.C./Hilton Head Prep) finished tied for 74th overall with 36-hole scores of 167. Keane posted a round of 83 on Monday and 84 on Tuesday while Garruppo turned in a round of 87 on Monday and registered a score of 80 on Tuesday.
Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) finished one stroke behind the duo, carding a score of 168 after improving 14 shots on Tuesday with a score of 77.
McDaniel opens the spring schedule at the Myrtle Beach Shootout on March 14.
