Brooks wins four times

TOWSON, Md. – Towson won 10 of the first 11 events to key a 152-94 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men's swimming action on Saturday.

Brad Brooks (Newark, Del./Charter School of Wilmington) led the Green Terror (0-5) with four wins, including touching first in the 1000 free to win the first individual event of the meet. Brooks touched first in both distance events, winning the 1000 free 9:44.55 and the 500 free in a time of 4:49.64. He was also the winner in the 200 IM with a time of 1:59.39 for the fastest McDaniel time of the season.

Brooks teamed with Logan Linden (Ocean View, Del./Indian River), Justin Allen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) and Paul Van Nevel (Gaithersburg, Md./Poolesville) to capture the 400 free relay at the end of the meet with a time of 3:28.51.

Three swimmers won twice for the Division I Tigers (5-1), including Joel Todd, who joined Matt McKenney, Zachary Brech and Sean Patterson to open the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.16. Todd also won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 58.26 seconds.

Noah Pritchard (100 back, 52.06, and 200 breast, 2:12.33) and Dominic Breshci (200 free, 1:43.38, and 100 free, 47.69) were also double winners.

Michael Brant (Wilmington, Del./Cab Calloway School of the Arts) rounded out the Green Terror winners, taking the 100 butterfly in a time of 59.07 seconds.

Van Nevel was also second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.40 seconds and fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.93.

Owen Long (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) placed third in the 50 free (23.68) while Linden was fourth (24.15). Long also finished fourth in the 100 free (53.63).

Allen finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.35) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.44).

McDaniel returns to action at Dickinson on Saturday. Meet time is 1 p.m.
