LANCASTER, Pa. – The McDaniel College men's swimming team opened competition at the Centennial Conference Championships on Thursday, finishing eighth with 52 points.
 
The team of first year Quinn McCormick, junior Ethan Gell, first year Noah Minarcik and junior Joshua Morgan opened the day's events with a 1:44.40 time in the 200-yard medley relay. First year Cooper Blackburn, sophomore Zach Duck, first year Gavin Buchheit and junior John Hegarty finished with a time of 2:11.25 in the same event.
 
McCormick, Duck, Gell and Morgan clocked a time of 7:27.15 in the 800-yard freestyle relay while Minarcik, Buchheit, Blackburn and Hegarty finished with a time of 9:32.91 in the same event.
 
The second day of the conference championship on Friday begins with the prelims at 10 a.m. followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
