WESTMINSTER, Md. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) won the 5,000-meter race to lead McDaniel to a victory at its own Green Terror Challenge in men's cross country action on Saturday.

The Green Terror posted 19 points in the 5,000-meter race and was the only team to run complete in the 3,000-meter event.

Heilman won the 5K race in a time of 17:30.

Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) crossed the line first in the 3K race, posting a time of 10:34.

Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) finished second in the 3K with a time of 10:50.

Thomas Runner (Elkridge, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), Kyle Crouse (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key) and Cyrus Darwoolla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) all ran in both races for McDaniel.

Runner was third in the 3K (11:05) after crossing seventh in the 5K (19:01).

Crouse placed eighth in both races, finishing the 3K in a time of 11:40 after posting a time of 19:36.1 in the 5K. Darawoola was right behind Crouse in the 5K with a time of 19:36.2 before finishing 10th in the 3K with a time of 12:06.

Colin LaPenta (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) and Ian Yoshioka (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) were fifth (11:15) and seventh (11:39), respectively, in the 3K while Wade Bishop (Greensboro, Md./North Caroline) finished ninth (11:54).

The Green Terror returns to action at the Navy Invitational on Saturday. Race time is 11 a.m.
