Box Score WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the game's first 11:39 en route to a 9-0 victory over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) field hockey action on Saturday.
Senior defender Rachel Cressman (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) led the Green Terror (6-2, 1-1 CC) with two goals and two assists. Melissa Cohen added her first collegiate hat trick, notching McDaniel's second three-goal outing of the week.
Angela Meng led the Owls (0-4, 0-2 CC) with nine saves in goal.
Gabrielle Yore (Olney, Md./Sherwood) opened the scoring, finishing a centering pass from Haley VanNostrand (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) just 4:06 into the game.
Cressman knocked a ball towards the goal that Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) was able to tip up and in just over three minutes later.
Sara Reynolds (York, Pa./Central York) finished a quick pass from Cressman off a corner three minutes later for a 3-0 lead.
Just 26 seconds later, VanNostrand connected with Yore on the break, who hit the backboard for a 4-0 lead at the 10:33 mark.
Cressman's two goals, directly off a pair of penalty corners made it a 6-0 game just 17:07 into the game.
VanNostrand sent a ball in from the right side that Cohen tipped in past the keeper the 54th minute before scoring twice in a 5-minute, 5-second span to complete her hat trick for the final margin.
The Green Terror finished with advantages of 33-0 in shots and 17-0 in penalty corners.
McDaniel returns to action at No. 6 Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
