NEWVILLE, Pa. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) crossed 59th overall to lead McDaniel at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School in men's cross country action on Saturday.
Heilman led the Green Terror in the short half of the two-part race – a 4,000-meter run that featured 196 competitors – with a time of 13:11.96 on the course that the will host the 2015 NCAA Div. III Mideast Regionals in November. As a team, the squad placed 11th in the field of 25 complete teams with 144 points.
Thomas Runner (Elkridge, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) finished 87th overall with a time of 13:35.60 while Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) was 93rd overall with a time of 13:40.87.
Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) crossed 128th in a time of 14:36.29.
Cyrus Daroowalla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) turned in a time of 14:46.10 in his debut at the distance to finish 135th while Kyle Crouse (Keymar, Md./Francis Scott Key) crossed 138th overall in a time of 14:47.84.
Ian Yoshicka (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) rounded out the McDaniel competitors in 149th place (15:03.64).
The Green Terror returns to action at the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational on Friday.
