FRONT ROYAL, Va. – Brian Norwitz (Germantown, Md./Northwest) carded a round of 74 on Sunday to lead McDaniel to a sixth-place finish at the Shenandoah Fall Invitational in men's golf action on Saturday and Sunday.
The Green Terror posted a two-round score of 626 after carding a round of 306 in Sunday's second round. McDaniel sat fourth after a first-round score of 320. Virginia Wesleyan won the 13-team invitational with a scored of 598, posting a first-round score of 305 and second-round tally of 293.
Norwitz finished with a 36-hole score of 155 to finish 14th overall. He had a round of 81 on Saturday before posting the Green Terror's best round of the weekend on Sunday.
Brandon Vance (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and Mason Woolford (Pasadena, Md./Severna Park) finished in a tie for 18th place overall with a score of 156. Vance improved two shots from Saturday to Sunday, carding a round of 79 over the first 18 and 77 over the second 18. Woolford shot matching rounds of 78 on the two days.
Steven Tanen (Laurel Hallow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) also added a round of 77 on Sunday to move into 33rd place overall with a two-day score of 159.
Freshman Shawn MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass./St. Mary's Lynn) debuted with a 36-hole score of 163 (84-79) to finish 50th.
Tim LaSarso Jr. (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) played as an individual, posting a score of 158 (81-77) to finish 28th.
The Green Terror returns to action at the Elizabethtown Blue Jay Classic on Tuesday. Tee time is 12:30 p.m.
