Sarah Bach (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) led the Green Terror (1-0) with two goals and an assist as part of the team's most lopsided victory since 2011.
Hannah Daley made 15 saves in net for the Royals (0-1), who faced a barrage of 27 shots while only mustering three of their own.
Haley VanNostrand (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Mechanicsburg) opened the scoring for McDaniel, finishing a rebound just 4:12 into the game.
Freshman Megan Quattrone (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle Area) doubled the advantage just over four minutes later, hitting the backboard for her first collegiate goal.
Back-to-back Gabrielle Yore (Olney, Md./Sherwood) goals, including one off a pass from Quattrone, made it a 4-0 game.
With 10:27 to play in the first half, Bach found Rachel Cressman (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) for a 5-0 edge at the break.
Off a penalty stroke, Cressman played the ball down to Bach, who finished in the 53rd minute.
Bach set the final margin 14:28 later, finishing a short shot.
Christina Gooding (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) saved all three shots she faced to pitch a shutout in her first collegiate game.
The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
