GREENSPRING, Md. – Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) finished fifth to lead McDaniel at a tri-match with Stevenson and Johns Hopkins to open the men's cross country season on Tuesday.
Heilman turned in a course PR on the 4,000-meter Stevenson course, finishing in a time of 12:52.77 to lead the Green Terror to a third-place showing. McDaniel finished with 70 points. Johns posted a nearly perfect score – with the exception of Heilman's fifth-place finish – to win the event with 16 points.
Thomas Runner (Elkridge, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) finished 29th overall with a time of 13:48.56 in his collegiate debut.
Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) crossed 31st with atime of 13:53.39.
Cryus Darwoolla (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and Ian Yoshioka (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) debuted with time of 14:38.28 and 14:50.04, respectively.
Wade Bishop (Greensboro, Md./North Caroline) tuned in a time of 15:21.31 in his first collegiate cross-country race.
The Green Terror returns to action in its own Green Terror Challenge on Saturday. The first race begins at 9:40 a.m.
