Relay sets program record

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The 4x800-meter relay opened the men's indoor track and field season for McDaniel at the Navy Winter Invitational on Saturday.

Alex Panagakos (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll), Jim Heilman (Lutherville, Md./Baltimore Lutheran), Thomas Runner (Elkridge, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and Chris Jones (Centreville, Va./Centreville) combine to break the previous program record by three seconds. The quartet turned in a time of 8:04.68 on the banked track to win the event.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Great Dane Classic hosted at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y., on Saturday, Jan. 16.
